નટ. સરકસમાં ખેલ કરનાર વ્યક્તિના રક્ષણ માટે જમીનથી થોડે ઉપર જાળી બાંધી હોય પણ નટ
તો એમ જ ચોવીસ હાથ ઊંચા વાંસ પર ખેલ બતાવે.
It is their sheer grit, determination and unshakable faith in their deity that keeps them performing such awe-inspiring acrobatics. The Nats or the acrobats are one of the most prominent performing community amongst the Nomadic Tribes. Since centuries the Nats have been wandering around to give performances that leave us spellbound. Some 300 hundred years back a number of these families settled on the banks of river Banas near the town of Rajpur. While performing a routine act a Nat from this settlement lost balance and fell off the rope. He died on the spot. His wife Goma became Sati near a temple in Rajpur. Since than Goma has become the deity that protects all the performing Nats when they enact deadly acts. A small prayer before the performance, for the deity Goma is a ritual they follow. They believe it is this faith in their deity that keeps them safe while performing.
આવા બહોશ નટ સમાજના કુળદેવી ગોમા સતીના મંદિરનો
ધ્વજારોપણ કાર્યક્રમ ડીસા મુકામે તા.૧૮-૧૯ સપ્ટેમ્બર 2013 ના રોજ યોજાઈ ગયો. જેમાં
સમગ્ર ભારતમાંથી ૩૦૦૦ નટ ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા હતા.
ગોમા સતી પાછળની કથા જોઈએ તો, ‘સદીઓથી પોતાના
વ્યવસાયના ભાગ રૂપ વિચરતી જાતિના લોકો ગામે ગામ ફર્યા કરતા. નટ સમાજના કેટલાક
પરિવારોએ આજથી ૩૦૦ વર્ષ પહેલા બનાસ નદીના પટમાં રાજપુર પાસે આવીને દંગો નાખ્યો અને
કુંપટ ગામમાં ખેલ કરવા ગયા. ચોવીસ હાથ ઊંચા વાંસ પર ખેલ કરતા નટ કલાકારે અચાનક
સમતોલન ગુમાવ્યું અને નીચે પટકાયો અને મૃત્યુ પામ્યો. નટની પત્ની ગોમા પતિના
મૃતદેહને પોતાના ખોળામાં લઇ રાજપુર ગામમાં જ્યાં મંદિરનો ધ્વજારોપણ કાર્યક્રમ થયો
ત્યાં સ્વેચ્છાએ સતી(સમાધી લીધી) થયા. હાલ સમગ્ર ભારતમાં રહેતા તમામ નટ દોર ઉપર કે
વાંસ પર ચડતા પહેલા ગોમા સતીનું સ્મરણ કરીને પછી જ પોતાની કળા બતાવે છે. એમને પૂરી
શ્રધ્ધા છે કે નટ જયારે ખેલ કરતો હોય ત્યારે માં ગોમા સતી તેમની સાથે જ હોય છે અને
એમનું રક્ષણ કરે છે.’ આમ તો આ કથા પોતાના પતિ માટેના અપાર પ્રેમની છે પણ નાના
સમાજની આવી કથાઓ એમના સમાજ પુરતી જ પ્રચલિત બની રહે છે....

Recently on 18th and 19th September some 3000 Nats gathered at Rajpur for a religious ceremony at the temple of deity Goma.
